What is BuildSmart?
BuildSmart is an alliance of qualified green building specialists serving homeowners, contractors, developers and architects. We are composed of seven well-established companies that have been offering green building solutions for Western North Carolina for years.
Why is it an alliance?
We formed an alliance as a way to offer a total solution to our customers through a single point of contact. We focus on a collaborative approach that acknowledges the importance of well-rounded project team, and the alliance provides a way to manage and coordinate all aspects of green building within the project without adding to the overall project cost.
I want to upgrade the efficiency of my current home. Do I need to do everything all at once?
No. BuildSmart provides a detailed and prioritized list of green upgrades custom tailored for each homeowner. Many homeowners then choose to complete the project in phases starting with the highest priority.
What value does the alliance bring to customers?
We see strength in our ability to offer the knowledge and experience from a large number of companies in different areas of green building. Through coordinated design and construction efforts, we can help identify synergies within the project.
Do I have to use all the services in the alliance?
No. We will work as a part of your project team in the appropriate way to allow you to meet your project goals.
Is there a price benefit to using multiple services?
The alliance provides a vehicle for its members to work together and deliver effective solutions to customers. The value in the alliance is that it provides additional services and coordination without additional cost.
Who do I work with?
You will work with a dedicated project specialist who will manage your project from the design stage all the way through completion.
Who do I pay?
Each member of the alliance will send its own invoice as the work is completed.
